ALBANY, NY – Highland Planning LLC is proud to announce its selection as a key partner in the groundbreaking $400 million Championing Albany’s Potential (CAP) Initiative, announced by NY Governor Kathy Hochul. Working alongside nationally recognized MIG and other expert consultants to develop a comprehensive strategy for revitalizing New York’s capital, we will contribute our deep experience in public engagement, community-driven planning, and urban design to ensure Albany residents and stakeholders are at the center of the planning process.
This investment represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create lasting positive change in Albany, and we’re committed to ensuring every voice is heard to help identify community priorities and build consensus around catalytic projects to strengthen neighborhoods, support small businesses, and create new housing opportunities.
The Downtown Albany Strategy will guide the revilitization and implementation of $200 million in downtown revitalization funding, focusing on projects that are ready to advance, supported by the community, and capable of attracting new housing, businesses, and activity to the capital city’s core.
Highland Planning joins MIG, Streetsense, Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Metropolitan Urban Design Workshop, STC Design, and Sherpa as part of the expert consulting team selected by New York Empire State Development to lead this collaborative planning effort.
